St. Luke’s College of Nursing
Centennial Celebration

It was the most awaited event of a St. Luke’s Nursing alumna and it has now come to past and became a part of the history of St. Luke’s College of Nursing.

Grand and Glorious “Grandorious” is the best description of the Centennial Celebration. It was a big event considering that we are celebrating our 100 years of existence in the nursing field and glorious with the spectacular outcome of the hard-worked plan and with the gathering of alumni who were themselves craving for this momentous event.

It was indeed the best time to celebrate because of many reasons worth mentioning. Having reached a hundred years was a reason enough to celebrate and the rest is already a package that comes along with it. We are the pioneer institution in the nursing field that history books mention. We have been consistently recognized and adored for giving one of the best educations in our country not to mention the alumni who made their mark and own history in the nursing field. The old good memories that every St. Luke’s graduate had which made us the persons and professionals that we are today. Coincidentally, the 2007 Batch Centenniales grabbed the No.1 spot in the Nursing Licensure Exam which became the icing on top of the cupcake or the chocolate at the bottom of the ice cream drumstick that made the event sweeter to celebrate. We are on the pedestal that other institutions covet.

Here are the memorable moments during the celebration:

The pre-celebration “red carpet event” was the most dramatic. It was nostalgic where alumni meet, greet and embrace ‘gold’ old friends and where everybody had a chance to walk in a Tinseltown inspired entrance hall with the centennial insignia backdrop.

Spectacular is the word for the opening ceremony which served as a jumpstart for the occasion. The speakers were superb in fuelling and inspiring everybody’s emotions. They were the grand marshals that set the event.

Undeniably, the host made his own version of a noontime show that captured the hearts of the Balikbayans and made them feel warmly welcomed.

The ballroom night was itself a fabulous event. People dressed glamorously, danced and enjoyed the night away.
The Campus and Hospital tour gave the alumni the impression of how time flies like a wink of an eye with the changes in the infrastructure and the setting.

The food should not be taken for granted. From a western inspired food to the all Pinoy recipe - it was indeed overflowing and appetizing!

And not to forget the combined efforts of the organizers, partners and the Batch Magis who converged and made the event what it has become.

The St. Luke’s College of Nursing Centennial Celebration is the epilogue of a century old story of excellence molded by the hands of time and fate. It has a magnanimous ending and had a promise then to continue the saga. Indeed, it has never failed its own challenge, for again our College landed on top of the Nursing Licensure Exam thru the effort of the 2008 Batch Magis. In the dawn of the new time, a new preface has already been written and what a spearhead chapter it is!
